10 in 10 2024 Award Rules
To encourage more activity and create an easy goal for new-comers, FISTS Down Under is sponsoring an Award for December 2024.
Open to all VK and ZL ops, non FDU members included. DX stations are valid contacts but may not submit a log (due to coffee cup postage limitations 🙂 )
Note: This is not a competition, only a fun award. So contacts on WARC bands are permitted.
“Getting active is what it’s all about. Activity builds confidence and before you know it the nerves will melt away and you’ll be happily jumping on-air for a QSO.”
The 10 in 10 Award 2024
Goal: Make at least 10 QSOs within 10 consecutive days in December.
Basic Rules
You may log any number of calls per day. working the same call maximum once per band per day. Although making a QSO every day in the block would be great, you don’t have to log something every day in the block.
You may nominate multiple non overlapping 10 day blocks and these will add together.
Exchange:
Any. In FDU we prefer QSOs slightly better than “5NN TU BK”, but it’s up to you.
Endorsements
On top of the basic 1 point for one QSO there are additional points for the following:
QRP (5W or less), add one point (2 points per QSO)
QRPp (1W or less), add 2 points (3 points per QSO)
Options:
Try for multiple categories
Try for multiples: ie. 20 or 30 consecutive days, one QSO per day
FDU will issue an Award certificate for those achieving the Award objectives.
Logs and Award
Every log showing “10 in 10” or more will get an electronic award certificate. In addition, the top points scoring logs will receive an FDU coffee cup with their call sign !
Log Submission
Submit your log in electronic format by 7 January 2025 (or sooner). A photo of your paper log, excel or other format is fine. Please show a points claim for each QSO to make tallying easier.
If all your QSOs are QRP, QRPp or with a favorite straight key, bug or cootie, say so, and we will note it on the certificate.
Want to make extra work for us? Submit a separate log for each endorsement category you have achieved 10 in 10 for ! (Std, QRP and QRPp)
Email logs to: Chris VK3QB, please see QRZ.COM for the email address. www.qrz.com
Chris’s note:
Forty metres is a good reliable band for local contacts during the day: try 7025, 7028 or 7032 kHz as a starting point, but don’t be afraid to use that big dial on the front of the radio 😉
If you’re calling CQ and not getting any takers check the FDU frequency chart, or try announcing your activity on the FDU Facebook page or Discord.
See you on the bands!

Editors Note :
If a rule is not specified above it doesn’t apply. Please don’t ask if endorsement for QLF is available or if microwave bands are allowed 🙂
